Ezy Reading:
2010
Evan Kanarakis

Even if we never met,
Even if few stories of you were filled with cheer,
I’m left with so very many questions.
What of the true nature of a man whose name I bear?

Even if so much of your life was broken,
Even if you struggled to find that peace of place,
I still see heart and fight in these yellowed pages from your youth.
And wonder how it could all be swept away?

But even in the sweetest of discoveries,
Of words that belie all I’ve been told of you,
So what to find that we’re born of kindred spirits?
My existence may inherit yours- connected to the bitter end.
