Poetry From The Cud:
Summer Haikus

Summer Haikus

Rockaway Beach

Slip, slop, slap, sprint, splash
Red bellies and salty hair
"Just one more hour!"

Runners at McCarren Park

Round and round they go
Counter clockwise and panting
'Til they're glistening

The Whale

Warm blood, cold water
A colossal flubber fish
Don't get in its way

Domino Park

Laughs in the fresh breeze
The East River shimmering
Sit in the circles

My Apartment in July

Blinds up, windows down
An Edward Hopper painting
Keep the air con on
